Shafaq News/ The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, announced on Sunday the formation of a parliamentary committee that includes representatives from four parliamentary committees to scrutinize all decisions taken by the outgoing government of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
Al-Mandalawi’s media office stated, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the committee formed will be headed by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, and it will review all decisions taken by the caretaker government, specifically from the date of the tenth of October 2021 – the date of early elections – until now .
He indicated that the committee includes members of the concerned parliamentary committees, namely, integrity, financial, legal and investment.
It is noteworthy that many MPs and parliamentary blocs, as well as those interested in political affairs, demanded on several occasions the formation of committees, whether parliamentary or by specialists, to scrutinize decisions and contracts concluded by the daily caretaker government, while deputies filed lawsuits against Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and some ministers. His government for taking decisions and concluding contracts that these representatives consider illegal because the government’s tasks are to conduct daily business and it is not within its powers to contract and issue decisions.
