The representative of the coordination framework, Hassan Al-Asadi, ruled out, on Saturday, the arrival of the draft financial budget for the year 2023 to the House of Representatives during the current legislative term, indicating that passing the budget is a very difficult task.
Al-Asadi said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, that “the draft budget law for the year 2023 has been studied in the Ministry of Finance, but it has not yet been presented to the Council of Ministers, which in turn sends it to the House of Representatives for a vote on it.”
He added that “the budget needs extensive study and discussions within the parliamentary committees,” ruling out “its arrival during the current legislative season.”
He continued, “The government has not yet submitted a draft federal budget law to the House of Representatives, as the House does not have any information about the funds included in the budget.”
Pointing out that “any draft law presented during the current period will be postponed to the next legislative term, because Parliament does not have enough time to pass it in light of the approaching end of the second legislative term.”
Independent MP Mohsen Al-Saeedi, in a previous interview with Al-Information Agency, had suggested that the federal budget bill for 2023 by the government would reach the House of Representatives at the end of this month.
