Shafaq News/ The Iraqi parliament and the prime minister agreed, on Monday, on the need to present the federal budget law for the year 2023, and to rely on scientific competencies in managing the state, while they stressed on “strengthening” the relationship between the legislative and executive authorities to pass the stalled laws.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Muhsin al-Mandalawi, said, in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, that the latter headed a parliamentary delegation that included members of the Independent Iraq Alliance to meet Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani at the government headquarters, to discuss a number of files.
The statement added, “During the meeting, it was stressed the need to strengthen coordination between the legislative and executive authorities to pass important laws that affect the lives of citizens and the country’s economy and activate the suspended laws, as well as giving the authorities and oversight agencies a greater role to carry out their responsibilities in preserving public money and limiting corruption.”
The meeting stressed, according to the statement, the need to expedite the submission and approval of the draft general budget law, and to rely on scientific competencies in managing the state’s joints to provide tangible results on the ground, achieve economic development and create new job opportunities, in addition to supporting the industrial and agricultural sectors and encouraging investment to activate the private sector. “.
