Omani Minister of Transport, Said bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, affirmed today, Sunday, that the “Development Road” project is a promising project and will include all Iraqi governorates, pointing out his country’s efforts to activate information transfer and enhance digital government in cooperation with Iraq.
During a joint press conference with the Governor of Najaf, followed by Al-Maawali Agency, Al-Maawali said that his presence in Najaf is a great honor, expressing his hope to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially economic ones.
He explained that there is progress in joint work, especially in the transportation sector, as work is underway to enhance air transport and activate joint digital projects. He also stressed the importance of the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in implementing the “Development Road” projects due to their strategic importance.
Al-Maawali added that the discussions also included files related to livestock, fisheries and agriculture, within the framework of expanding areas of bilateral cooperation.
For his part, Najaf Governor Yousef Kanawi welcomed the Omani minister’s visit, noting the clear openness between the two countries and the recent arrival of numerous Omani delegations to Iraq, reflecting a shared desire to develop relations.
