Oil prices fell by about 15% on Monday afternoon after US President Donald Trump said he would order the military to postpone any strikes targeting power plants and energy infrastructure in Iran.
Brent crude futures fell by about $17, or 15 percent, to hit a session low of $96 a barrel by 2:30 p.m. Baghdad time.
Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell $13, or about 13.5 percent, to its lowest level during the session at $85.28.
