Oil Expert: approve oil and gas law would be a quantum leap

Iraqi oilFalah al-Amiri predicted Director General of the General Company for the export of oil (SOMO) that “the House of Representatives will soon reach to a final version of the law of oil and gas.”

He said al-Amiri told Radio Free Iraq that “the law will organize the relationship between the oil center and the region in addition to the rest of the provinces.”

To the MP for the Kurdistan Alliance Rinas Jano that “the federal government and the province realized the importance of the adoption of the law of oil and gas to end the oil dispute between them,” and predicted the inclusion of the bill on the agenda of future meetings of the Council of Representatives.

He explained that the oil expert Abdul Rahman al-Mashhadani said that “the adoption of the law of oil and gas will serve as a quantum leap to change the old laws,” which he described as non-potable to meet Iraq’s ambition to develop the energy sector.

It is said that a draft law oil Swalghaz is still a bone of contention between the parliamentary blocs in spite of putting up more of a draft of the Law on the Council since 2007.
