Member confirmed Finance Committee Mustafa Al-Karawi Today, Thursday, the 2025 budget will not include any new projects or appointments.
Al-Karawi said in a statement to: Alsumaria News “There is a significant delay in financing investment projects, and therefore a directive and preliminary decision were issued not to include any new projects in the 2025 budget so that the government can finance existing and ongoing projects, and so that there is no halt or delay in projects, which would lead to their demise and delay in providing services.”
He added: “This decision was taken in consultation. “Ministry of Planning with Finance Committee To direct the government not to include new projects and to proceed with completing what is currently included,” indicating that “there is a halt in the projects and thus their disappearance and delay in providing the service, which means that the agreement with Ministry of Planning As well as what was circulated in Finance Committee To direct the government not to include new projects and to proceed with completing what is included in the budget.”
Al-Karawi pointed out that “the failure to disburse funds for some projects and contractors is one of the reasons that prompted us to take this decision, given that the government is unable to finance all ongoing projects and including new projects means entering Iraq “With future commitments that the government may not be able to fulfill,”
