Baghdad (AIN) –The parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, agreed upon the suggestion of the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, to hold early elections in Iraq under the condition of forming a technocrat government headed by an independent person.

The Turkish Anadulu News Agency stated “Kerry suggested to Nijaifi holding early elections in Iraq to settle the political disputes in Iraq where the latter approved the suggestion under the condition to forming a government with a technocrat headed by an independent person.

“Kerry was upset from the development of the political situation in Iraq,” the Agency added, noting that “While meeting Nijaifi, Kerry assured that the political updates would destroy all the efforts conducted by Washington to have democracy in Iraq.”

“Kerry advised the opponents of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, not to withdraw from the political process or the next elections because it will affect the Sunni sect in Iraq.”

“Kerry referred to the 2005 parliamentary elections and the situation of the Sunni sect who did not participate in it which resulted in limiting their role in the political process in Iraq,” the Agency concluded. /End/
