The New York Times reported on Friday that US President Donald Trump received plans from his aides to strike Iran, including sending special forces into Iran.
The New York Times quoted US officials as saying that “Trump’s aides have prepared plans to return to military strikes on Iran, if he decides to break the stalemate with more bombing.”
She added that “among the American options is sending special forces into Iran to target documented nuclear materials.”
She added that “special forces may be used in an attempt to take control of Kharg Island,” indicating that “the administration’s options include more intense bombing campaigns against military sites and infrastructure in Iran.”
The New York Times also quoted aides to US President Donald Trump as saying that “the president has not yet made a decision regarding his next steps with respect to Iran.”
It is noted that US President Donald Trump issued a strongly worded warning to Iran, stressing that his patience with it was running out, and urging the regime in Tehran to conclude a comprehensive peace agreement with America in the region.
Trump said in a press interview broadcast on Hannity’s show on Fox News, “I’m not going to have any more patience… They have to reach an agreement.” This comes as Washington continues its naval blockade of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
When asked in the interview about acquiring enriched uranium from Iran, the US president considered this issue necessary only for public relations, stressing that it would be better for his country to acquire that uranium, stressing that it was more about public relations than anything else.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi had announced earlier on Friday that understandings had been reached to postpone negotiations on the nuclear issue to a later time. While he considered the situation in the Strait of Hormuz to be “complicated” and requiring an effort to find a solution, he welcomed the efforts of Russia, China, India and Pakistan to resolve the existing crisis.
