New details revealed about “manipulation” in budget tables

The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed new optimism about “manipulating” the budget schedules for the year 2024.
Committee member Moeen Al-Kazemi said, during his hosting on the {Free Talk} program broadcast by Al-Furat satellite channel this evening, that: “The government sent the 2024 budget tables two months ago and there was agreement on them in the Finance Committee as well as under the dome of Parliament.”
He explained, “The tables showed a difference with the government version and the House of Representatives responded by the government working on the original tables, which amounted to 211 trillion dinars,” noting that “the Prime Minister’s relentless efforts are a good thing away from political interference.”
Al-Kazemi explained “the Finance Committee’s decision to form an investigation committee to find out the reasons for the difference in the tables and the Parliament Presidency objected to forming the committee on the pretext that it is not within the committee’s jurisdiction.”
He noted that “the major fundamental change that occurred in the budget tables was in favor of the Ministry of Trade in order to increase the food ration amounts by 5 trillion dinars.”
Al-Kadhimi stressed “the seriousness of the Finance Committee to continue investigating to find out the reasons despite the objection of the Parliament Presidency, and so far we have not reached the goal of tampering with the limits of 15 trillion dinars,” adding, “No accusation has been brought against any representative, and tampering with the tables did not cause financial harm.”
