National Union disowns Karim{International: Al Furat News} A leading member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) announced that Necmettin Karim has nothing to do with the Patriotic Union and says: “We do not like to have corruption charges, but the court will decide that.”
“He has no connection to the Patriotic Union and he is finished within the federation,” said Rehaber Sayed Brim, a leading member of the Patriotic Union.
For his part, said Mustafa Jawarch, a member of the leadership of the National Union, “Necmettin Karim no longer has anything to do with the National Union and was expelled.”
“The relationship between Necmettin and the National Union has been cut to a certain extent, and this remains at the party conference, either by ending its membership in the National Union or extending it,” said National Union (PUK) member Saadi Ahmed Bireh.
Security authorities arrested Necmettin Karim, former governor of Kirkuk, at Beirut International Airport a few days ago.
A political source said that “numerous complaints are registered against Necmettin Karim, who is wanted for the Iraqi judiciary, according to an arrest warrant issued by Interpol.”
Najmuddin Karim left Kirkuk after the events of November 16, 2017, and settled in Barbil, while the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan on February 16, 2019, removed by a majority of votes, as a member of his office.
