Representative Zuhair Al-Fatlawi confirmed, on Tuesday, that an official complaint had been filed with the Public Prosecution against the executive government for not sending the 2025 federal budget tables to the Council of Representatives.
Al-Fatlawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The government’s delay in sending the budget tables has caused a delay in the disbursement of employee dues, including bonuses, promotions, and service transfers, not to mention the suspension of most service projects and the failure to pay the dues of implementing companies, which has caused great harm to a wide segment of citizens.”
He added, “The complaint came out of concern for the interests of the people and their rights, which are being lost due to this negligence. We trust the Iraqi judiciary and place our hope in it to complete legal procedures against those who caused harm to citizens and government institutions.”
It is noteworthy that the failure to send the 2025 budget tables from the Council of Ministers to the Council of Representatives has negative repercussions on the work of ministries, local governments, and agencies, leading to the disruption of their projects and financial entitlements.
