MP Aref Al-Hamami revealed today, Wednesday, the mechanism that will be adopted in dealing with the exchange outlets in all governorates, stressing the importance of supporting these outlets that represent a source of livelihood for thousands of families.
Al-Hamami said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The owners of the exchange outlets represent a wide segment extending from the capital to the rest of the governorates, and constitute a vital economic facility that provides sources of livelihood for thousands of families,” noting that “the adopted mechanism is characterized by flexibility and ease in distributing salaries.”
He added, “Any decision against outlet owners will be rejected, because it contradicts the principle of supporting the private sector, which everyone must support. The government also supports this context to strengthen the national economy.”
Al-Hamami explained that “the presence of some outlets that misbehave in terms of usury or deferred sales does not mean that this phenomenon exists in all outlets, and therefore the limited violations cannot be generalized to everyone.”
Al-Hamami stressed, “The necessity of keeping the outlets operating according to the procedures approved by the government agencies, which creates balance and flexibility in many financial paths, whether in paying salaries or other procedures.”
He pointed out that “the existing violations are very limited, and must be addressed within the applicable laws,” noting that “the strike file announced by the owners of the outlets in most governorates is being followed up, and intervention will be made to put in place fair solutions that contribute to the continuation of the normal operation of the outlets.”
It is noteworthy that the owners of outlets in many governorates announced a strike, in protest against what they described as the procedures adopted by the Central Bank, which may negatively affect their work, which represents a source of livelihood for thousands of families.
