MP warns of corruption suspicions due to delay in submitting budget schedules

Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Investment Committee, Hussein Al-Saabari, said on Monday that the delay in sending the 2025 general budget tables aims to “cover up the disbursement process of funds that bear clear suspicions of corruption.”
Al-Saabari said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency: “The budget tables are very late, which will lead to major problems within the ministries and governorates.”
He added that “the delay in sending the tables is a negative indicator of the performance of the government and the Ministry of Finance, and many representatives have demanded that the secret behind this delay be revealed,” noting that “the goal of the delay is to transfer funds without the need for parliamentary approval.”
