MP Baqi al-Saadi confirmed on Sunday that there is a majority within the Coordination Framework forces supporting the nomination of Nouri al-Maliki for the next government, noting that there are four key points that reinforce this choice.
Al-Saadi told Al-Maalouma that “the decision of the Shura Council of the Dawa Party to nominate Al-Maliki for the next government was not arbitrary, but was based on clear facts and data, and there is a majority within the framework forces that supports this direction.”
He added that “Maliki has significant experience in managing the state and its institutions, and enjoys broad relations with all national forces, in addition to his awareness of the nature of the challenges that Iraq is going through in light of the current regional and international atmosphere.”
Al-Saadi pointed out that “Maliki also has a comprehensive action plan to manage the economic situation, which is facing significant difficulties,” stressing that “the Dawa Party’s support for his nomination represents a clear and firm step, making him the most likely candidate to assume the position of Prime Minister in the next government.”
