MP files a request to file a lawsuit against the Minister of Finance

MP Haider Al-Mutairi revealed on Saturday that he had submitted an official request to the Public Prosecutor to file a lawsuit against the Minister of Finance, due to the delay in finalizing the 2025 budget schedules.
Al-Mutairi told Al-Maalouma that “the 2025 budget schedules are vital files for state institutions, as they are directly linked to the files of promotions, allowances, service calculations, and transfers,” indicating that “the continued delay in finalizing these schedules leads to the disruption of the interests of a large segment of employees.”
He added, “Our follow-up on this file, and through communication with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, revealed that the Ministry of Finance is in the process of preparing the estimated schedules for the 2025 budget, but this procedure has not been completed for several months, and the schedules have not yet been sent to the House of Representatives.”
Al-Mutairi pointed out that “changing or delaying the preparation of these schedules will cause severe damage to employees’ rights, so an official request was submitted to the Public Prosecutor to file a complaint against the Minister of Finance in this regard,” stressing that “following up on this file comes within a vision aimed at protecting the interests of state institutions, and the necessity for the Ministry of Finance to adhere to the timelines for preparing the schedules and sending them to the Council of Ministers for approval, before presenting them to the House of Representatives for a vote.”
It is noteworthy that the 2025 budget schedules were supposed to be finalized last February, but they have been delayed until now without providing any clear justifications, which led to the disruption of many entitlements within state institutions.
