MP Amer al-Fayez, head of the Tasmeem Alliance, confirmed on Thursday the clear waste of public funds and corruption in Iraq’s ports and oil terminal contracts.
Al-Fayez said in an interview with the program (Publicly), broadcast on Al-Sumaria TV, that “our achievements in Basra have not been carried out by any governor since 2003 until now, and they have not satisfied the citizens of Basra, considering that the governorate needs a lot,” noting that “Basra is the ‘mother of bread’ for Iraq, and the benefits are taken from it, but it remains neglected.”
He added, “We expect the Coordination Framework to remain at the forefront of the situation in the upcoming elections and the largest bloc within the House of Representatives, but we are keeping a balance for surprises.” He explained that “Al-Sudani is part of the framework and will reunite with it after the elections and will obtain more seats than before.”
He pointed out that “there is clear waste of public funds and financial corruption in Iraq’s ports and oil terminal contracts, and there are committees monitoring the issue and submitting their reports to Parliament.”
