The head of the parliamentary Amal bloc, Yasser Al-Husseini, described the Ukrainian company developing the Akkas gas field in Anbar Governorate on Thursday as a fake company that cannot handle such a huge field.
Al-Husseini said in a statement to / Al-Maalomah / agency, “There are external pressures on the government to continue the Ukrainian company’s work inside Iraq.”
He added, “The Ukrainian company is an unspecialized company and is unable to develop any economic project in Iraq, pointing out that it is a fake company and does not have sufficient experience to develop gas fields.”
He continued, “Referring projects to companies that do not have experience or investment capabilities is considered a corrupt contract, and this is proven by evidence and documents.”
