Movement to nominate Nuri al-Maliki as Vice President of the Republic

Shafaq News / A parliamentary source revealed, on Thursday, a movement within the Iraqi parliament, to put forward the name of the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, for the position of Vice President of the Republic.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, “The parliamentary and political movement for Al-Maliki’s assumption of the position is being worked on to pass it in Parliament during the session of granting confidence to the government of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani.”
The source added, “So far, there is no final agreement to vote on al-Maliki during the session scheduled for today.”
