The head of the parliamentary rights bloc, Hussein Mounes, confirmed on Monday that most political blocs do not show any real seriousness in the issue of withdrawing US forces from Iraqi territory, despite the clarity of the agreement signed between Baghdad and Washington.
Mounes said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The political reality shows the absence of a real will among most forces to exert pressure on the government to implement the US withdrawal agreement, which includes clear timetables.”
He added, “We are facing a moral and national responsibility that requires decisive political action to evacuate our lands of any foreign occupation forces,” calling on representatives to “strip themselves of partisan affiliations and deal with this issue on the basis of the supreme national interest.”
