The representative of the coordination framework, Durgham Al-Maliki, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the new parliament will reconsider the decisions taken by the previous parliament, including raising the dollar exchange rate.
Al-Maliki said in a statement to “The Information”, that “the coordination framework is moving towards the return of the dollar exchange rate to its previous price and correcting the mistakes and lapses caused by the previous parliament.”
He added, “The financial abundance of the Central Bank, the stability of the economic situation in the country, and the high price of a barrel of crude oil make it imperative for us, during the upcoming sessions, to call on the government to reduce the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar.”
Al-Maliki pointed out that “the exchange rate remaining high is unjustified, and therefore the only Iraqi citizen who pays the price hike tax.”
