Ministry of Transport - Implementing the requirements for lifting the air ban in EuropeThe Ministry of Transport confirmed, today, Friday, its continuation in implementing the requirements of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to lift the air ban in Europe, as the ministry’s spokesman, Maitham Al-Safi, stated in a statement to the official agency, that “the ministry is continuing to implement the safety requirements of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as part of its efforts to lift the air ban on Iraq.”

He added that “the ministry has contracted with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), praising its efforts in this field, through the Iraqi Airways Corporation.”

He also indicated that “work is proceeding according to the specified timetables, and in line with the consultations provided by the International Federation team,” noting that “the ministry is implementing several corrective steps, including diversifying service providers, unifying the model, and providing qualified cadres.”

He explained that “the ministry has made progress in automating Iraqi Airways, and is working to unify the model according to an integrated plan, in addition to strengthening the crews with new employees, whether at the level of flight attendants or pilots, while adhering to the required official procedures.”

He also stressed that “some requirements are not related to the Ministry of Transport only, but also include the Civil Aviation Authority,” stressing that “the Ministry continues to implement its obligations to ensure the achievement of the necessary safety standards.”
