It was scheduled that the House of Representatives would resume its session devoted to voting on the draft budget law at one o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, but as of writing the news, the session did not sit.

Al-Karawi said in a press interview, “The reason for postponing the resumption of the session devoted to voting on the draft budget law is due to the disputes of the Kurdistan region, which have not been resolved until now, as there are objections by the Kurdish forces to some of the proposals that the committee voted on and we are continuing to pass them.”

He added, “Postponing the vote on the draft budget law is not in the interest of all political forces, because the people are waiting for its approval, and the government is also following its details,” noting that “until now, no date has been set for the resumption of the session.”

Earlier in the day, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and First Deputy Mohsen al-Mandalawi arrived at the parliament building, in preparation for holding a session to complete the vote on the budget.
