The leader of the State of Law coalition Haider al-Lami confirmed, on Monday, that the coordinating framework must be a party to the election of the president of the republic, while noting that the exclusion of Zebari does not mean acceptance of Barham Salih for the presidency.
Al-Lami told “The Information”, “The exclusion of Hoshyar Zebari from the presidency of the republic does not mean accepting Barham Salih for the position, but the issue is related to the existing understandings between all political forces,” noting that “after the court’s decision not to run for Zebari for the presidency, the political parties will need to Another pause to try to proceed with the formation of the new government.”
He added, “The coming days will reveal if the tripartite alliance consisting of the Kurdish, Sunni and Sadrist movement changes their path in the political process, in addition to revealing all the agreements that occurred between the Kurdish parties, especially between the Yekti and the Parti.”
