Baghdad today:
The US embassy in Baghdad has sent a secret message to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) demanding Erbil to postpone the referendum, Al-Mayadeen reported on Sunday.
The channel, quoting sources, said that “the US Embassy in Baghdad has written to Erbil a confidential letter requesting the postponement of the referendum on independence.”
“Irbil did not mind postponing the referendum and is waiting for a formal American request, in the same sense as the secret message,” the sources said.
