The leader in the coordination framework, Turki Al-Atabi, confirmed, on Saturday, that the 2018 scenario is the closest to resolving the position of the President of the Republic.
Al-Otbi said in an interview with “The Information”, “The Kurdish forces have not yet agreed to present a consensual candidate to resolve the position of the President of the Republic, and the level of differences between them is still stuck in several points, especially since the consensus in the file of submitting a candidate for the President of the Republic requires a preliminary consensus on other issues.”
He added, “So far, the 2018 scenario is the closest to resolving the position of the President of the Republic according to the indicators, especially since they were given a deadline to quickly resolve their position on the consensual candidate,” noting that “exceptional situations require speeding up resolving this point and moving to the stage of assigning the Sudanese and forming the government.” .
Al-Otbi indicated that “this week is crucial for the Kurdish forces, and we expect them to make a final decision very soon, whether by putting forward the consensus candidate or going to the parliament to resolve the decision by putting forward the names of the candidates and leaving the options to the members of the council.”
The coordination framework gave a time limit for the Kurdish forces in order to resolve their position in putting forward a consensual candidate for the post of President of the Republic. Done/ 25 F
