Today, Tuesday, the State of Law coalition called on the Iraqi courts to hold the expelled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, accountable, while stressing that the coincidence of the meetings demanding the Sunni region with the government’s negotiations to remove American combat forces puts the file in doubt.

Coalition member Ibrahim Al-Sakini said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “The judiciary saved Iraq from collapse and the malicious plans that Al-Halbousi was seeking to implement,” noting that “the partition project is one of the repercussions of dealing with the Zionist entity.”

He continued, “The country’s current situation does not tolerate the regionalization and division projects called for by some parties that have lost everything,” pointing out that “the purpose of the discordant voices demanding the division of Iraq into regions is to stir up division and racism.”

Al-Dulaimi concluded his speech: “It is necessary for the solidarity of the popular, political and judicial forces to reject these malicious plans,” adding that “the coincidence of the meetings demanding the Sunni region with the government’s negotiations to remove the American combat forces puts the file in doubt.”

Many political and popular circles criticized the Sunni meetings that took place these days in order to demand the establishment of a Sunni region with the blessing of some tribal leaders supported by the expelled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, according to observers.
