Ali Larijani, advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, announced that Iran would move toward producing a nuclear bomb if attacked by the United States or Israel under the pretext of its nuclear program.
Larijani stressed that if the United States or Israel bombed Iran under the pretext of its nuclear program, Iran would be forced to move toward producing a nuclear bomb.
Larijani said, “An attack on Iranian nuclear facilities would not serve the Americans’ interests. In this case, we would be forced to take another path that would create a secondary justification for possessing nuclear weapons.”

Larijani also indicated that the United States is capable of “identifying common economic interests” with Iran, noting that if the Americans wanted to discuss economic interests, they could cooperate with Tehran “fairly” to the benefit of both parties.
