A security source in Anbar province revealed on Friday that large American convoys, comprising dozens of trucks loaded with soldiers and military equipment, moved from Baghdad and Harir in Erbil towards Syria via the Al-Walid border crossing in the Rutba district, west of Anbar.
The source told Al-Maalomah News Agency, “American convoys consisting of dozens of trucks loaded with soldiers and military equipment moved from their bases in Baghdad and Harir in Erbil province, passing through Baiji district towards Haditha district in western Anbar, reaching deep into Syria via the Al-Walid border crossing in the Rutba district, west of Anbar, as part of a suspicious American plan coinciding with the approaching date of their alleged withdrawal from Iraq.”
The source added that “US forces imposed unprecedented security measures as their convoys moved towards the northern Iraqi desert, reaching areas west of Anbar and then into Syrian territory,” indicating that “security forces stationed along the border with Syria observed suspicious movements by US forces, without knowing further details about the deployment of their forces departing from Iraq near the Syrian-Iraqi border.”
