Kuwait’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, said on Thursday evening that Iraq is a neighboring country with which we have close relations, while praising Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi’s steps to restrict weapons to the state.
In a speech before the United Nations, which was followed by Shafaq News Agency, Al-Sabah stressed the need to reach regional understandings based on good neighborliness, and also emphasized the importance of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz without any restrictions or conditions.
Al-Sabah accused Iran of using the Strait of Hormuz as a bargaining chip in the war, adding that Iranian attacks targeted civilian infrastructure in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Crown Prince of Kuwait affirmed that his country supports all diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing dispute.
