(AIN) -Kuwait confirmed settling the problem of re-demarcation of the borders with Iraq.

The Kuwaiti (Kuna) News Agency quoted The Premier of Kuwait, Jabir Mubarak al-Hamed al-Sabah as saying in response to a question raised, during receiving Kuwaiti journalists, over the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations after postponing his expected visit to Iraq several times and the events occurred on the joint borders “We settled the problem that happened over borders between the two countries and we agreed on demolishing the squatter houses there.”

He pointed out that “I am ready to visit Iraq, but I am waiting for Iraq’s invitation.”

Al Sabah stressed “This visit is very important for both sides to settle all the pending issues,” pointing out “A commercial, economic and media delegation will accompany the official Kuwaiti delegation.”

It is worth mentioning that the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Iraq, Martin Kobler, announced on last Friday settling the re-demarcation of borders issue between Iraq and Kuwait. /End/
