Kuwait revokes citizenship of those accused of theft of the century and seizes their assetsThe head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge (Haider Hanoun), stressed the importance of twinning between the oversight agencies in different countries, especially sister countries, and cooperation in the field of receiving wanted persons and recovering smuggled funds.

During his meeting with the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq, Tariq Abdullah Al-Faraj, at the Commission’s headquarters, Hanoun discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of combating corruption, exchanging expertise and transferring experiences, noting the two parties’ efforts to conclude a memorandum of understanding between the Commission and the Kuwaiti Anti-Corruption Authority.

Hanoun stressed the need to protect foreign investors and provide them with a safe environment, warning anyone who might dare to commit the crime of extortion to achieve economic gains at the expense of investors. He called on Kuwaiti investors to enter the Iraqi market and report any extortion they may be exposed to, pledging to protect them from extortion and to act quickly upon receiving reports.

For his part, the Kuwaiti Ambassador (Tariq Abdullah Al-Faraj) expressed his happiness with the cooperation between the institutions of the two countries, especially the supervisory bodies, stressing that the concerned authorities in the State of Kuwait are providing assistance and cooperation with the Iraqi side in the field of handing over the accused, warning of the beginning of revoking the Kuwaiti citizenship of those accused of stealing tax deposits and wanted by the Iraqi Integrity Commission, and freezing and seizing their funds.
