Kurdish MP: There Is No Agreement On The Candidate For The Presidency Of Parliament So Far

Member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Rabha Hamad, confirmed, on Saturday, that the first parliament session will not resolve the position of the Speaker and his two deputies for several reasons.
Hamad said in a statement to the “Information” agency, that “the lack of agreement between all the political blocs before the parliament session will put the position of the head of the legislative body on hold for another session.”
She added that “in the event that the Shiite bloc reaches an agreement among themselves, the head of the legislative body will be chosen alone, without choosing his two deputies until the formation of the government.”
She pointed out that “the absence of understandings and agreements by the three blocs to put forward a new name or candidate for the House of Representatives before the first session is held will put the political scene in the waiting stage.”
It is scheduled that the House of Representatives will hold its first session tomorrow, Sunday, to name the Speaker and his two deputies, and to determine the largest bloc headed by President Mahmoud al-Mashhadani.
