The representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Jay Taymur, revealed, on Saturday, the scenes and developments of the recent meetings and negotiations that took place between the federal government and the delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the oil and gas law, the share of the region, and ending the outstanding differences.
“The legislation of the oil and gas law is part of the political agreement within the State Administration Coalition, and everyone is committed to passing it,” Taymur said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency.
He added, “We hope, during the next stage, that long-term strategic agreements will be reached between the federal government and the regional government.”
Pointing out that “resolving disputes depends to a large extent on the legislation of the oil and gas law agreed upon within the State Administration Coalition,” stressing that “some controversial points have not been resolved and they need more time.”
The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in Parliament, Vian Sabri, had confirmed in a previous interview with Al-Maalouma that the dialogue between the delegation of the Kurdistan region and the federal government had progressed remarkably during the past days.
