Khazali - The coordinating framework has two options - either full participation in the government or moving to the oppositionShafaq News/ Qais al-Khazali, leader of the “Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq” movement, one of the leaders of the Shiite coordination framework, said on Saturday that the framework either participates with all its political forces affiliated with the next Iraqi government or moves to the opposition option, apparently in response to the leader of the Sadrist movement. Muqtada al-Sadr, who rejects the presence of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, in the new government cabinet.

This came in a speech delivered by Khazali during the memorial ceremony held by the National Congress of Faili Kurds in the capital, Baghdad.

During the speech, he said, “The coordinating framework has two options, either full participation in the government or moving to the opposition,” adding that “even if the framework becomes the largest bloc, it will not proceed alone, aware of the external project, and it is clearly aware of the danger of this project that is being hatched outside Iraq.”

Khazali added that “what is happening from schemes that want bad and evil for the country are intelligence schemes that Britain is behind,” noting that “everyone knows what the UAE is playing a bad role in the region in general and Iraq in particular,” as he put it.

He also said, “We do not doubt the sincerity of the intersecting Iraqi Shiite political forces at present, but there are those who are making efforts in various ways to stir up strife between the parties.”

The leader of the “Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq” movement distanced the armed Shiite factions from being behind the recent attacks in Baghdad, saying, “The resistance factions have nothing to do with the targeting in the Green Zone.”

On Friday, the leader of the “Al-Fateh” coalition, one of the prominent leaders of the coordination framework, Hadi Al-Amiri, called for the need for consensus between the Iraqi political forces in forming the government and managing the next phase in the country, warning against excluding the coordination framework from participating in the government.

Attempts to enter parties from the coordination framework in a national majority government that Muqtada al-Sadr is confronting, jointly with the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the alliance of those who advanced headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi, and Azm headed by Khamis al-Khanjar, faltered.

This was confirmed by al-Sadr, when he expressly rejected the participation of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, in the government of the national majority that he seeks to form.

Al-Sadr said in a televised speech, followed by Shafak News Agency, “I invited Hadi Al-Amiri, Qais Al-Khazali and Faleh Al-Fayyad to participate in the majority government, provided that Al-Maliki did not participate, but they refused to do so,” adding, “The coordinating framework forces mortgaged Al-Maliki’s participation by her coming to Al-Hananah and we told them: Your comfort.”

Al-Sadr blames Al-Maliki, who headed the government for two consecutive terms (2006-2014), for rampant corruption and acts of violence in the country, in addition to the ISIS invasion of a third of Iraq in the summer of 2014.

On Thursday, the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, responded to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, who stipulated that the coordination framework should include them in the new government without al-Maliki.

Al-Maliki said in a tweet on Twitter, followed by Shafak News Agency, “I am used to in my political and social life that I do not issue a response to those who transcend and personify national political differences, and respond to them in the political and security field, in defense of Iraq and the security and interests of citizens and to stop harming those who underestimate blood and confiscate Money, property and liberties.
