Political analyst Haitham al-Khazali said that the candidate of the coordination framework, Muhammad al-Sudani, may pass and obtain the position of prime minister of the new government, provided that the Sunnis and Kurds obtain some concessions from the framework, pointing to the importance of taking into account the short life of the government and not making more concessions.
Al-Khazali told Al-Maalouma, “The candidate from the coordination framework, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, may pass and get the presidency of the next government in the event that a date for early elections is set.”
He added that “Al-Sudani’s passage may be conditional on obtaining some concessions from the coordination framework of the Kurds and Sunnis,” noting that “the short term of office in what or when a date has been set for the elections must take into account not to make concessions to the other parties.”
Khazali stressed the importance of the political blocs reaching consensus among themselves in order to get out of this political impasse while proceeding with forming a government at this critical time.”
