Security expert Abdul Karim Khalaf considered, on Monday, the postponement of the meeting of the Iraqi delegation with the American side for one month, expecting the postponement to be repeated because the latter is not serious about the issue of withdrawal from Iraq.
Khalaf said in a statement to the Maalouma Agency, “America is trying by all means to pressure the Iraqi side, represented by the government, to stay for a period of no less than three years, and this is politically and popularly unacceptable.”
He added, “Postponing the meeting of the Iraqi delegation with the American side for a month is expected and may be repeated because the latter is not serious about the issue of withdrawal from Iraq for the period that the Iraqi government directly proposed to Washington,” calling on “the government and the military delegation not to accept any other period that falls within America’s plans to procrastinate in any way.”
The leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Ali Hussein Al-Fatlawi, had called on the government to abandon the current approach in the issue of the withdrawal of the American-led international coalition forces, and adopt seriousness in order to resolve the issue of ending the American presence, because it is not welcomed by the people and the political blocs in the House of Representatives.
