BAGHDAD / Wi Ninoz said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Friday he expected to take President Barack Obama’s “quick decisions” on Iraq because of the gravity of the situation.
He said Kerry told reporters during a joint press conference with British Foreign Secretary William Hague “in light of the gravity of the situation … I expect quick decisions from the President with respect to this challenge.”
He added that “al-Maliki needs to do more to remove sectarian differences aside in Iraq.”
The United States on Thursday expressed disappointment of the response of Iraqi forces to the rapid progress of the militants who overran Iraqi cities over the past few days.
Jane Sacchi said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman in the American daily press statement, “The events of the past few days harbinger of danger .. no structural imbalance is clear and we are frustrated by the steps taken by a number of security forces.”
