Information / Anbar..
A security source in Anbar province reported on Tuesday that a US military convoy comprising more than 15 large vehicles equipped with sonar equipment departed from the Ain al-Asad base in the al-Baghdadi area of Hit district, west of Anbar, heading towards the capital, Baghdad, using the international highway.
The source told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the American convoy set off amidst intense US warplanes, which fully secured its route,” noting that “the true motives behind the transfer of these devices are not yet known, in light of clear secrecy on the part of the US.”
He added that “US forces have imposed unprecedented security measures along the international highway, in anticipation of any potential targeting of the convoy,” noting that “the movement of US convoys from Ain al-Asad base towards Baghdad has witnessed significant activity recently.”
The source continued, “The movement of this convoy coincided with the departure of another American logistical convoy towards the city of Ramadi, which raises many questions about the nature of American movements in the region during this period.”
