“Islamabad negotiations”: Expectations of an extension for an additional day

Iran’s Tasnim news agency suggested on Saturday that negotiations in Islamabad would be extended for an additional day to continue technical discussions, stressing that the matter had not yet been decided.
Tasnim quoted sources as saying that experts from both the American and Iranian sides are currently working on studying the details of some issues.
Fars News Agency, quoting a source in the Iranian negotiating team, reported that the progress of the negotiations will determine whether the delegation’s stay in Islamabad will be extended or not.
Reuters, citing a Pakistani source, reported that talks between the United States and Iran lasted for two hours before the delegations paused for a break.
Meanwhile, a White House official reported that a trilateral face-to-face meeting was held between the United States, Iran, and Pakistan.
Earlier on Saturday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the start of negotiations in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, confirming that it had presented its observations and demands to the Pakistani side, within the framework of mediation efforts to discuss consolidating the ceasefire and containing the escalation in the region.
