The Presidency of the House of Representatives confirmed today, Sunday, that its parliamentary decision regarding the House of Representatives’ vote on the budget tables came as the tables were received from the government, without tampering with the numbers.
A document issued by the Presidency of the House of Representatives, in response to the Prime Minister’s Office, confirmed that the parliamentary decision to vote on the budget tables came as the tables were received from the Council of Ministers, with the addition of only the authority to transfer 2 trillion dinars to governorates not organized into a region. This response came after a letter sent by Al-Sudani’s office to the Presidency of Parliament, revealing the existence of three different versions of the budget tables!
Al-Sudani’s office pointed out in its letter to the parliament presidency that the parliamentary decision stated that the budget tables were voted on and approved as received from the Council of Ministers, i.e. without change, but the paper version included with the parliamentary decision and sent to the prime minister’s office included a difference in numbers from the original version of the Council of Ministers, in addition to the fact that the disk containing an electronic copy of the budget tables also contains a different version from the original Council of Ministers tables and from the paper tables sent with the House of Representatives decision, while information indicates that there is a difference in numbers amounting to more than 10 trillion added to the original budget of 211 trillion dinars.
On the other hand, specialists and economic experts considered that tampering with budget tables is a dangerous matter, considering that not submitting final accounts gives many parties the opportunity to change and transfer because they are not responsible for submitting final accounts.
