Statistics from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Saturday showed a significant decline in Iraqi oil exports to the United States over the past week.
The administration said in statistics reviewed by Shafaq News Agency, “The average US crude oil imports during the past week from nine major countries reached 4.847 million barrels per day, a decrease of 920 thousand barrels per day compared to the previous week, which reached 5.767 million barrels per day.”
She added, “Iraq’s oil exports to the United States averaged 8,000 barrels per day, down 189,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s average of 197,000 barrels per day.”
The administration noted that “the largest US oil revenues last week came from Canada, at a rate of 4.1 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico, at 265,000 barrels per day, Saudi Arabia, at 248,000 barrels per day, and Libya, at 158,000 barrels per day.”
According to these statistics, “US crude oil imports from Brazil averaged 140,000 barrels per day, from Colombia 133,000 barrels per day, from Venezuela 49,000 barrels per day, and from Nigeria 43,000 barrels per day, while Ecuador exported no crude oil.”
Earlier, the U.S. Energy Information Administration announced that Iraq’s crude oil exports to the United States exceeded 8 million barrels in July, ranking fourth among oil-exporting countries to the U.S. and second among Arab countries.
