Iraqi ports receive the largest container ship in its history

Received Iraqi ports, on Tuesday, the Liberian ship (MSC ROBERTA) tonnage of 1227 containers of different materials of construction and foodstuffs coming from the port of Jebel Ali.
Director of the Port of Umm Qasr northern Riad Sawadi Shamkhi said this is the first ship that entered the ports of Iraq length of 297 meters and a draft of about 11 meters, the largest that link the port of Umm Qasr and the ports of Iraq.
Shamkhi He added that the Iraqi ports did not receive a ship of this size by the lack of readiness of canals and today has become a receiving ships of this size after marine drilling rigs and specialized staff effort, noting that this giant ship berths occupied area of the docks because of the length.
It is noteworthy that the ship carried a total of up 45,803 tons, and carry the flag of Liberia, the first ship of this size up Iraqi ports since its founding in 1919.
