6-9-2013 Intel Guru OCrush Barzani and Maliki have met successfully This is what we were waiting for. If this had a hiccup all that was accomplished would have gone to xxxx! It’s a pivotal day and we are very excited! Next we should see the Kuwaiti PM visiting Baghdad. Also the parliamentary sessions start on the 16th or 18th and they will have there legislations in place to vote on (with the big boys blessings). It’s pretty straight forward now and today was a BIG DAY with a great accomplishment.

6-9-2013 Newshound Guru Stryker Maliki and the Iraqi Cabinet of Ministers arrived by military aircraft this morning in Arbil, the capital of Kurdistan greeted by Barzani and his senior leaders. It looked like President Barzani and Prime Minister Maliki were old friends that were very happy to see each other by all the pictures that…I have seen this morning. For the two of them to meet like this and with open arms is a very good sign, let’s just pray that Maliki doesn’t screw this up for them and us.

6-9-2013 Newshound Guru Stryker They started the day off by holding a full Cabinet Meeting which was closed to the media but they did say they would hold a press conference around 3:45 in the afternoon. After that meeting, Prime Minister Barzani and Prime Minister Maliki had a one on one meeting behind closed doors…According to this article… the Oil & Gas Law, the rights of the Peshmerga and Article 140 are among the most important issues to be discussed today…and…they will remain until they are implemented. It sure would be nice if they stay until all are implemented.

6-9-2013 Intel Guru Winalot I am the one who took the screen shot of the strange rates that everyone is passing around. It was a “still shot”….there was no commentary, it was something the tv station regularly puts up in between segments. I do not speak or read Arabic, so I do not know what is being said on TV over there. I do, however, know rates. I do know that the rate shown on that pic is not what is usually shown.

6-9-2013 Newshound Guru Kaperoni quotes from the Minister of Planning – National Development Plan 2010-2014: “The future strategy of the monetary sector is to continue improving the dinar’s exchange rate in a gradual, studied manner…” & “To improve the Iraqi dinar exchange rate in a gradual and studied way…” & “Floating the exchange rate in a manner managed through public bids.” These quotes are confirmation that the dinar will rise in value and will float! I believe the intention of the CBI is now to let the dinar slip to open the foreign exchange auctions. This is a prelude to switching from a fixed rate currency to a float. IMO, what we are seeing here is Turki performing what is known as a “disorderly exit” from a pegged currency to a float. It is happening right in front of us.

6-8-2013 Intel Guru Jester THERE IS A MEETING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF CHINA AND OBAMA AND OTHERS TODAY… WE ARE EXPECTING A BASEL III ANNOUNCEMENT WILL COME OUT OF THIS MEETING WHICH KICKS OFF THE CURRENCY RE-SET AND ALSO COVERS THE CHANGES IN CURRENCY VALUES… THERE HAS TO BE SOME TYPE OF ANNOUNCEMENT TO CLOAK THIS EVENT…LAST JUNE THERE WAS A VIDEO FROM BLOOMBERG THAT SAID “THERE IS A CERTAIN POINT AT MIDNIGHT ON A SATURDAY NIGHT … THEY ARE GOING TO ANNOUNCE IT”.

6-8-2013 Intel Guru Jester WE THINK THIS IS THE MOST LOGICAL EXPLANATION OF THE CURRENT EVENTS RIGHT NOW BASED ON ALL OF THE INFORMATION WE HAVE RECEIVED… REAL WORLD EXPLANATIONS OF WHAT WE ARE SEEING TO ADD TO THE BIG PICTURE… WE LIKE THE BIG PICTURE. THAT AND OTHER THINGS WE ARE HEARING IN THE PROCESS MAKES US THINK WE ARE GETTING REALLY REALLY CLOSE.

6-8-2013 Newshound Guru Shredd we can see that the CBI has been working on getting their banking to a place where it can support a future Iraq. Another article shows us that enhanced banking systems are a continued need. We continually are seeing regulatory and supervisory involvement of the CBI, in coordination with the government and local banks, in addressing the pricing versus the exchange rate of the dinar and dollar. The same goes for the monitoring and evaluation.

Closing date June 30, 2013!!] yes!! So many times we get the question, “when is the banking sector in Iraq going to get everything in order”. Well, we can see…that this project has been ongoing for 50 months and is about to close. Now, we need to remember that this is a project by the World Bank…this isn’t an internal project of the CBI’s but rather one initiated and supervised by their governing body, the World Bank.
