9-19-2014 Newshound Guru Aggiedad77 Article: “Parliamentary Finance declares its readiness to present the draft budget law for 2014 as soon as possible” The Finance Committee within Parliament has shown a “willingness” to get the 2014 draft budget pushed through Parliament as quickly as possible…again big news from the Parliament…”give it to us and we will get it done” they are saying…bold talk from this new Parliament…I’m liking what they are saying here….Parliament is also addressing changes to the Unified Retirement Law (9) for 2014 and will be implementing changes that will be for the good of Iraqi citizens…one MP…made a statement that the draft 2014 budget will reach Parliament on the 10th of October….but keep your eyes on this…I think it will be sooner…rather than later.

9-19-2014 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Article: “Financial Expert: Subtract category 10 thousand new security precaution and to re-structure the expectations of the Iraqi currency” if the CBI’s intent is to replace the existing notes with new (more secure) undated versions, there is no RV, float or any other change in value coming for at least a while (at least months). It would make no sense to replace these notes if they expected to introduce new lower denominations in the near future. In fact, the CBI has stated the replacement process will continue through the end of this year. That tells me…nothing is happening with the exchange rate in 2014! First and foremost the CBI is trying to strengthen the monetary policy (get citizens to use dinar, conform to IMF guidelines, build the banking system, reduce corruption, etc.) and then, once the GOI is formed, laws are passed and security is somewhat stable (ISIL delt with) i expect the CBI to transition to Article VIII and a new Exchange Regime which will begin to raise the value and solve the banking and monetary problems that exist….not to mention create the environment for a successful transition to a market economy.

9-19-2014 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Iraq does nothing fast despite the outcries from everyone in the media to do so. The good news is it seems that all the experts in Iraq “get it” and what they are saying is what we want to occur. It is so frustrating for sure..because we all know what they could have and they are so far behind schedule…but, we just need to wait it out. Let me give you my personal view…replacement of the 10k is critical since it was the most counterfeited note in the series. In this replacement, they strengthen the banking system, the currency in use and prevent additional fraud. This is necessary before they open the banking system to the world and enter Article VIII. Can you just imagine if they did nothing and the original 10,000 is easily copied and counterfeited in the marketplace? It could potentially cause sever damage to the Iraqi economy. IMO this is good news…

9-18-2014 Intel/Newshound Guru Poppy3 [I have been looking for the so called IMF document that states Iraq can support 3.22 plus 20% inflation and can not find any reference to those numbers.] THAT WAS ON THE IMF WEB SITE IN OCTOBER 2010 IN FULL VIEW… BUT THERE HAVE BEEN MANNY MEETINGS SINCE THEN SO THE RATE COULD BE MUCH MORE OR MUCH LESS. THAT WAS POSTED FOR 3 DAYS THEN REMOVED.

9-18-2014 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Article: “Finance parliamentary likely to issue a new edition class (50) thousand dinars” …if they issued physical 50k or 100k notes it is not good not only for us as dinar investors, but for Iraq’s own economy. That is not what they are going to do. It contradicts everything Iraq needs to do for a transition to a market economy and more importantly integration of the banking system with the world economy. That is why they won’t. What they will do is raise the value of the dinar (nominal exchange rate) and introduce notes that gives one “the feeling” of purchasing power equal to issuing a 50k or 100k note. In other words, they are trying to raise the value as so often stated at or near 1 to $1.

[what laws are we looking for besides HCL?] MANY BANKING LAWS INCLUDING THE INTERNATIONAL BANKING LAWS THAT HAVE TO BE DONE FOR THEM TO BECOME FULL MEMBERS OF THE WTO. ALL THESE LAWS WERE YESTERDAY SAID TO HAVE BEEN PLACED IN ONE BASKET FOR VOTE SO THEY ALL WILL BE PASSED AT ONE VOTE.

9-18-2014 Newshound Guru Shredd regarding remaining ministers, I think agreement will be had soon and agree on vitality of having them seating to move forward on fighting terrorism and moving forward on monetary policy change and to have agreement amongst the parties is key, non-sectarian…equally representative. I’m excited to see new notes being updated too again, fighting corruption…making it harder for terrorists to use and exchange imo. [think all those security things being done is the prelude for the LD’s to show.] totally agree, part of three zeros plan… LD’s will be useless without a strong rate.

9-18-2014 Intel/Newshound Guru tman23 [u think iraq will pull things together this month or not?] I’m sticking to 10/7 – 10/9 to see the change in currency rate…Quite frankly I have around 8 solid items that favor this timeline as being best window.
