5-2-2014 Newshound Guru Chattels Early results show that the Kurds may win 58 seats in the Iraqi parliament, around the same number of seats (57) they won four years ago. Unless the five major Kurdish parties gather under one umbrella and form a strong bloc, they will easily fall victim to Nuri Maliki or any new prime minister who will happily exploit a Kurdish division.

It has nothing to do with the GOI or PM for Iraq.

Do you still feel that way?] as a dinar investor, we want a new GOI in a quick manor so they can get back to business and start making decisions, passing laws and moving to a market economy. So in that sense, yes. Do I want Maliki to win? No, but knowing Maliki, he will fight tooth and nail for a third term meaning he will drag this out for months and that is not good for us as investors.

My source there said it could take 10 days from the RI. I know that UST went into seclusion for a couple of days following that news though. [Do we still think the Zim will go in the first round?] I am told the zim will rv twice…once to give it a value and again once it is stable. We have no absolutes in this rv game but it looks as good right now as it ever has in the many long years. I am excited, tempered, but very upbeat.

5-1-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar There is a new power broker in town. Hakim just declared victory based on the trend he is seeing. Hakim will quickly form a government. He has done his homework and was prepaired for this moment. It will take another week or so before all the votes are counted but it makes no difference, Hakim has won and he knows it.

5-1-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Maliki will try to put on a strong face and pretend this is not over, but he will run in the next 30 days before they seat the new parliament unless he can say something to Hakin that inspires him to make some kind of a deal with Maliki to continue his immunity. Won’t happen. Watch for the tail of Maliki’s private jet going off the tarmac into the sunset. My best guess is still Chalabi for PM.

5-1-2014 Newshound Guru Aggiedad77 Article: “Parliamentary Finance: a quick session to resolve the budget crisis” The Finance Committee has stated there will be a session of Parliament to meet on Sunday, May 4…to “approve” the General Budget Law…note there is no mention of the second reading, but just the approval of the budget…according to the MP making this announcement there are no remaining conflicts…and there should not be any excuse for not having a quorum.

5-1-2014 Misinformed Intel Guru Mnt Goat …we may never even see this reinstatement rate and go directly to the revaluation rate when it goes live to the public. My concern now it that I am hearing more delays and excuses to hold it up even longer. Time and time again the USA has broken all agreements. Now that Iraq has officially reinstated their currency as of Saturday April 26, 2014 this situation now has grown to yet a new level. Now there are other legal agreements and international laws being disregarded. This is now elevated to a very, very serious level.

5-1-2014 Intel Guru Mnt Goat It is now beyond the 72 hour period necessary as specified that all new rates must be rolled out to the public exchanges and be international. Many international laws now have been broken. Having said this I also want to emphasize that there are many more good and honest people working very hard to bring this to completion and abide by all agreements and international laws. I have to tell you the game is coming to an end and will soon be over.

Fact check, Iraq has NOT reinstated their currency, just a made up story by the pumpers.

5-1-2014 Newshound Guru Millionday so many are saying oh no — if maliki comes back in — the economic reform will not happen — that is not the case — if they dont activate the economic reform it wont get done…the economic reform has to happen for Iraq to have a free market economy.

I thought they were in such a hurry to get the market economy going?] we’ll have to wait and see. I think the CBI has a bit of a sense of urgency – especially without Maliki hanging over their shoulder. Parliament surely does.
