Some feel that is a good thing for us while others contend it hurts us. What say you ‘ol wise one?] Depends…dropping the 0’s from the front of the exchange rate would increase the value to approximately .86:1, which would be fantastic…but it’s not likely. Dropping the 0’s from the currency is considered a “lop”, and is a neutral event – it doesn’t help or hurt us.
11-8-2013 Newshound Guru Tlar Article: “White indicates little hope of political change as a result of the upcoming elections” The three parties have had the ability to get rid of Maliki all along but to date always had one party bolt from this coalition. Iraqiya has stayed its anti Maliki course while the Kurds and Sadrists go hot and cold. Had the three pressed it they could have no voted Maliki last year. If these three blocks can stay the course together they could change the political map of Iraq.
11-8-2013 Newshound Guru Tlar I just hope they can pull off a fair election that is well monitored by the international community. I do find it interesting that the Election Law that has been argued for months is done within 2 days of Maliki’s return from Washington. Let’s hope Maliki doesn’t veto the law that would set up a long court trial.
11-7-20113 Intel/Newshound Guru Poppy3 here is the latest on MALIKI today. YES he made a speech but NO it was not a national address that he was supposed to make. No one has heard yet weather he will do it tomorrow or wait till after the special called meeting on Sunday? time will tell but for now all we can do is wait for the facts to unfold.
11-7-2013 Newshound Guru Tlar Article: “Cabinet discusses the decisions the next federal budget bill” This is the next big milestone IMO. If they can pass this budget before the end of December in all possibility they can open it in January. Activating the budget on time is now more crucial that the elections in my opinion because if as we have been told it is based on 1.16 dinars which would closely parallel the original 2008 study done on behalf of the CBI, it could mean the CBI will go international on or before the end of the year choosing not to wait until the elections. We will just have to wait to see what they really do.
11-7-2013 PUMPER Guru Loechin From all intel, rumtel and actual confirmed information that I have received since around 3 AM we have, we are now crossing the finish line. I believe as of this moment things are happening to bring us to a “going to the bank mode”. As of this moment the rates are $36.87 IQN, $6.47 VNN. These seems to be holding and should hold until we are done. I know of one dealer who will match Bank rates or so he has told us…M has done his speech, we have our currency, and we are waiting on the go from the IMF to release the UST to email our 800 numbers…You must sign the NDA or no exchange.
Guru Critic, Hey Loechin, why not make it $50 or $75? They can’t sustain $36.87 so why not? All of Iraq’s natural resources combined could not cover that rate.

11-7-2013 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG it does not appear they are afraid of advertising their intentions. However, with Maliki at the helm it has obviously been greatly delayed. Further – in the face of these recent “rumors” of an imminent RV, I am cautious, being suspicious of the character of the ongoing conflict between Maliki, Turki and the IMF.
11-7-2013 Newshound Guru Millionday this is an economic meeting >>>Africa-Arab Summit, which will be held in Kuwait City from 19th -20th November 2013 The Official launching ceremony of the third Africa-Arab Summit held in Kuwait City — Iraq will be taking part in this so this is really a huge event…they are working hard to help each other in the region and hoping to build and profit together. this is great to see Iraq participating and it is just a little while away — i would think they would want to be set and ready but we will see.
11-7-2013 SUPER PUMPER Guru TNT Tony … M did do a speech at 8 am Iraq time. Most of the people who saw it say it looked like a prerecorded speech. While it was a good speech (I believe this is the case, or VP Biden would not have done his speech behind it), it was not the speech that they wanted. But guess what, about 1 1/2 hours ago, M came back and did another speech. This was the speech that they wanted him to make and everything is on schedule.

11-7-2013 Intel Guru Frank26 As for M’s speech…He is doing it AGAIN!!! Over 3 weeks ago M made a recording of a speech he was to release once he got the Football from O. Was to release it today. He is defiant …Did it without warning yesterday LIVE. Mistake…Because he did his version …NOT the one that was agreed on. Then on top of all this he makes statements that he should not have done. He will eventually make good for our investment but apparently we have to watch his temper tantrums for awhile first.
11-7-2013 Intel/Newshound Guru Poppy3 SOME PEOPLE ARE TELLING YOU THE RV WILL NOT HAPPEN TILL THE HCL LAW IS PASSED — NOT — THE HCL LAW CANNOT BE PASSED UNTIL OR WITHOUT THE RV. THE HCL HAS TO BE FUNDED TO IMPLEMENT THE HCL. IT CONTAINS THE 17% FOR ALL THE CITIZENS.
