11-18-2014 Newshound Guru Breitling Back before Saddam started screwing around with the currency the note count was down to a billion notes and that’s why it was $3.00…move the situation forward…the Ministry of Planning, the Ministry of Finance and the CBI and their strategy…They had a 2 pronged attack. Get the oil to where it’s competitive, get enough oil out of the ground and have the currency at a certain level based on the note count so that they can be competitive. Then they were going to rebuild their infrastructure…they were going to reduce the note count and then they were going to add value to their currency so it gave purchasing power to the people and they were going to build the middle class in Iraq. They still plan on doing that but it’s definitely going to be a different situation…

11-18-2014 Newshound Guru Millionday [is the “Conference of National Reconciliation” something that has to happen before we see anything and are we waiting for anything else?] WE ARE NOT SURE IF THIS IS GOING TO BRING AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF ECONOMIC REFORMS AND ALL THE REST OR IF THEY ARE GOING TO ANNOUNCE THE REFORMS IN THE NEXT TWO MINUTES — HOWEVER THE CONFERENCE OF NATIONAL RECONCILIATION IS A HUGE CONFERENCE BECAUSE IT IS THE REJOINING OF THE ENTIRE NATION AS IT HAS BEEN FORMED BY ALL THE WORK THEY HAVE DONE SINCE THEY STARTED BUILDING A DEMOCRATIC STATE. [Do we have a date for the “Conference of National Reconciliation”?] NO NOT YET — JUST THAT IT IS THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. I KNOW THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR THE LAST THREE OR MORE WEEKS — IT IS A HUGE DEAL TO THEM AND VERY FORMAL.

The CBI may want some banking laws reformed first, or the GOI/CoM may want some of the economic laws in place. Both are valid arguments because opening the currency to the world (Article VIII) does nothing for the economy on it’s own…it only creates a monetary condition for investment. I will add this, we want parliament to do its work first. Why? because we want investment to flow into Iraq which will have a significant impact on the dinar’s value. So we should all be hoping parliament gets back to work and passes the laws as soon as possible.

They can be proud…I also want to point out that it is obvious that Kurdistan has control of Kirkuk and this was part of the disputed areas in article 140, it’s a very good sign of what is to come!

11-17-2014 RUMOR Guru Iraq was geared up for celebrations Friday and Saturday. There was an extension asked for at the G20 this weekend. The US did ask for more time, and they got a very small one. We were gearing up for Saturday and Sunday, and Sunday Iraq was told “it’s up to you, do it when you want to do it”… The UN says that Iraq is out of Chapter VII, and they can make the call whenever they choose. I’m happy about where we are right now. We’re in a good position.

11-17-2014 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Article: “Iraq Economic Brief” If you start to put all the pieces together…the articles that saying early 2015 or the beginning of 2015, and the CBI holding the Market rate within 2% for a few weeks (and holding it for 90 days puts them in late January), articles about passing a bunch of laws within a few days, the ISX and Xstream, and now today’s mention of raising the value on television early in 2015 it really sounds like the intent is to open the banking system (move to Article VIII) and a new Exchange Regime sometime at the beginning of 2015 which we all know is key to support a market economy. Only 6 weeks to 2015!

11-17-2014 RUMOR Guru On the legislative side, they have passed more laws, cleaned up bills and a bit more on the budget plus other normal business activities and ISIL actions. A lot of that has been dealt with. IN the mosques this morning they announced in the four major cities of Iraq that “this is really happening now, PM Abadi is going to tell everyone this is what we are going to do and what we are expecting”…they have prepared everyone to be close to a television or radio today. They truly believe this is it, and ONE rate will apply to the entire country. The CBI has explained the process…and the PM will explain what that means for Iraq.

11-17-2014 RUMOR Guru The US led the push to delay this further…Everyone else said, “No way” but… We did hear that a very small extension given, and we don’t know when it started… Abadi has not spoken yet, but we hope he will be on the 11pm news saying “Here’s what has happened”. In the good old US of A, a lot of the UN folks are at the G20, and there is consternation about what is going on, that it’s baloney and it has to be cleaned up. There was a lot of outrage, and as a result, Iraq has the ball again. The banks are cued up and ready and to go, ready to exchange, cranked up even more in the last day or two, in anticipation of the public RV. Iraq is ready and fully prepared, waiting for the CBI and Abadi…We are very close.

Now the question is how much are the citizens going to paid and how soon does this happen. Where does this new revelation leave the overall HCL process. There are STARS in the news out of Iraq today it would seem…The people of Iraq are going to be paid from oil revenues…The budget for 2015 could be approved quickly…The Kurds appear to be happy…The Iraqi Government is working together as a unified body…Keep watch for other interesting news as this day continues to progress.
