Information/Kirkuk:
The Kirkuk Electricity Distribution Branch announced on Monday a general power outage across the country.
The branch’s media stated in a statement received by Al-Maalouma that “the blackout occurred at 3:00 PM and covered all parts of Iraq,” indicating that “work is underway to restart the stations and gradually restore electricity.”
The head of the Parliamentary Energy and Electricity Committee, MP Mohammed Nouri Al-Abdarbeh, confirmed that the complete power outage in Iraq was the result of a fault in the transmission lines.
