The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, on Monday, that expectations are positive that Iraq will exit the list of high-risk countries during the current year.
Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf said, according to state media, that “Iraq has complied with all the conditions and standards set by the International and Financial Action Task Force (FATF),” stressing that “expectations are very high, that Iraq will be outside the list of high-risk countries before the end of the current year.” .
He added, “Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein sent a message to his European counterparts and the European Parliament and delivered this message through the ambassadors and heads of Iraqi missions in the arena of European countries, to mobilize efforts in this regard,” noting that “the reactions were positive.”
